El equipo dirigido por Eduardo J\u00e1pez est\u00e1 disputando un prestigioso torneo internacional en Sakarya (Turqu\u00eda)\u00a0hasta el 9 de febrero. Argentina, con el bahiense Facundo Arens, es el \u00fanico equipo americano que participa. Tras no poder avanzar a los cuartos de final, la Selecci\u00f3n venci\u00f3 a Suecia, Montenegro y en la ma\u00f1ana del s\u00e1bado a China (r\u00e9cord 5-3).<\/strong><\/p>\n

La Selecci\u00f3n Argentina U16<\/a>\u00a0particip\u00f3 de\u00a0uno de los torneos m\u00e1s prestigiosos del mundo<\/strong>, organizado por la Federaci\u00f3n de b\u00e1squetbol de Turqu\u00eda y durante su historia cont\u00f3 con la participaci\u00f3n de importantes promesas, que luego se convirtieron en estrellas, como Hedo Turkoglu y Tunceri Kerem (Turqu\u00eda), Dirk Nowitzki (Alemania) y Tony Parker (Francia). El primer torneo celebrado en Sakarya fue en 1994 y luego pas\u00f3 por las ciudades de Edirne, Estambul, Ankara, Konya y Gaziantep.<\/p>\n

En la actual edici\u00f3n los 12 seleccionados fueron divididos en dos grupos: Turqu\u00eda, China, Suecia, Serbia, Francia y Letonia integraron el A; mientras que Argentina<\/strong>, Ucrania, Eslovenia, Grecia, Montenegro y Alemania conformaron el grupo B. Los estadios de juego fueron Ataturk Sakarya y Lutfi Yaman.<\/p>\n

La selecci\u00f3n Argentina, con el bahiense Facundo Arens (Olimpo)<\/strong> no tuvo un buen inicio pero se recuper\u00f3 y, tras ganar los \u00faltimos tres compromisos, se qued\u00f3 con el 9\u00ba puesto. Eduardo J\u00e1pez, el entrenador, se\u00f1al\u00f3: \u00abExperiencia sumamente positiva en el Torneo en Turqu\u00eda con los U16 para capitalizar y no perder el trabajo de base y objetivo, que es el premundial. Es una excelente inversi\u00f3n de la CABB, vamos por buen camino y mas a\u00fan con un proyecto\u00bb.<\/p>\n
